Pittsburgh Cello Studio

Interested in taking cello lessons?  You're in the right place!  From brand-new beginners to intermediate and advanced cellists, teachers Nicole Myers and Simon Cummings can help you on your musical journey.

With backgrounds in both "traditional" and Suzuki-style methods, the Pittsburgh Cello Studio is a welcoming place no matter your level of experience or age.   While classical music forms the basis of our lessons, we specialize in multi-genre styles, including rock, pop, improvisation, and extended techniques.  Our experienced teachers have degrees in cello performance and bring a wide range of musical experiences to each individual lesson.

Each lesson is uniquely tailored to the student and their personal musical goals.  For our youngest cellists, weekly group classes are available in addition to private lessons.  Advanced students in middle and high school can join the monthly Cello Ensemble, which focuses on three to eight-part cello chamber music in multiple styles (including classical, rock, folk, and pop).

Interested in composing your own music or learning more about music theory?  The Pittsburgh Cello Studio will help you develop your song or composition through weekly or intermittent lessons.
